Trauma
I can't put pictures on here for security sake, but we are fostering a 6 year old little dude. This little man has been through more trauma than I can imagine. When he first came, he screamed like he was dying every time he had to go to the bathroom in the night. Then he started to just wet the bed. So now I buy diapers for a 6 year old. Today we went for some tests to make sure he doesn't have anything physically wrong with him that is causing him to wet the bed (and occasionally wet himself during the day and not care and then sit on my lap with wet pants...). Turns out, as we thought, that he doesn't have any medical problems, at least that we could see in an ultrasound. We thought that would be the case, that it was going to be from trauma, and it looks like we are right. On one hand, a medical diagnosis would have been much easier! Medication or a procedure and the wetting would stop! Trauma is so broad and so open ended and so consuming. But through all this, God reminds me that He cares. That He has a plan for this little guy. And that He can heal his mind and heart! Will you pray with me that God would heal him? We know He can! And in the meantime, we will continue to love on him, take him to therapy, and keep buying diapers. You do what you gotta do!
